rest in piece friend

Thu Nov 12, 2009, 3:49 PM
William Andrew Pfeil, more commonly known as just "Andy" was one of the greatest individuals anyone could have wanted to meet. A record breaking high school athlete, an astoundingly intelligent electrical and computer engineer, could program like no other which is why he was able to work at Rockstar, was extremely creative and a real appreciator of the arts, and most importantly was one of my very closest friends, one of only a hands-count I ever let so close. A real brother to me, and a role model for many in my community. Andy died on Monday afternoon due to injuries sustained in an auto accident on 495 in Littleton Massachusetts. The future will be dimmer without one of its brightest lights, one that helped guide the way for many of us in dark times. The future will bear the scar where someone so very special is now gone, and although it is terribly difficult to swallow the fact that there will be no new memories of Andy, and that none who have never met Andy will ever meet Andy, I am glad to say that I have made many terrifically vivid memories over the past thirteen years. Memories like lighting off illegal fireworks, accidentally lighting his garage floor on fire with paint thinner, rally racing his immaculately crafted gas RC car through the swamp of his yard after a heavy rain, driving around town and scaring the balls off people with his trunk mounted truck-horn, or just sitting there doing absolutely nothing. Of course in reality I feel that memories are never enough, but it is far far better that I have had the chance to meet such a person as Andy Pfeil, than to have never met him at all. There are so many words that I might say, so many thoughts and feelings that I would be typing into infinity itself. I will simply quote the days of yore with rest in peace my friend, you will be remembered, and if I have anything to do with it, you will be remembered even long after I am on this earth. Goodbye.
